By following these simple instructions, your jewelry will give you years of wearing enjoyment:
Wipe jewelry with a clean damp cloth using just water. For heavily soiled articles use water and a mile dish soap on a clean soft cloth. Rinse and pat dry. Never submerge in an ultrasonic cleaner. This will loosen any glued gemstones and the liquid cleaner may discolor gems or metals.
A soft jewelers cloth made for silver will polish off most of the oxidation to the metals. However, oxidation of metals can add an antique beauty to the piece.
Always store your jewelry in the bag it came in or jewelry pouch. Mixing it with other jewelry pieces in a box can tangle and damage the piece.
Jewelery is the last thing you put on and the first thing you take off. Do not spray colognes or hair products on jewelry. Definitely do not wear jewelry in hot tubs and swimming pools.
The chemicals in the water will do permanent damage to the gemstones and the metals.
Don’t sleep in your jewelry. Chains and intricate parts of the design can get in the hair, bed clothes and threads of pajamas and nightgowns.
